As is common in his output, this Vermeersch piece is based on subtle colour gradations. Here they are in a coppery tone which is diagonally modulated along the three panels with identical surfaces that comprise this triptych, expanding the sense of colour and light towards the space that separates them and reflecting an infinite variety of reddish nuances under the influence of the light. In this way, the artist manages to visually generate a sense of depth and convey the idea of evolution or change, and with it the passage of time, which is implicit in the concept of dégradé.

This work was acquired by the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the ProjecteSD gallery stand at the 2019 ARCO fair.
