The Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson is a non-profit, general-interest private Spanish cultural foundation. It was established in 2006 by María Cristina Masaveu with the aim of promoting culture, education and scientific research both nationally and internationally in keeping with the Masaveu family’s tradition of patronage.

The Fundación is active in various fields and engages extensively in sponsorship and patronage, as attested by its exhibitions and publishing, educational and research initiatives based on its own art holdings and its management of the Masaveu Collection. The art projects and cultural activities hosted in this building are a good example of these activities.
