Shibuya y BRKLN, 2023

FICHA TÉCNICA

Author: Alejandro Monge (Zaragoza, 1988)
Title: Shibuya and BRKLN
Year: 2023
Technique: Cement, resins, dyes and glass fiber

Challenging, futuristic and with a melancholic longing for something yet to come, the two figures, each with a different colour and aesthetic, belong to different races and probably live in neighbourhoods that are millions of kilometres apart but could be located in any capital city in the world.

The sculptures embody Alejandro Monge’s generation viewed from an urban, globalised perspective. They speak of a multicultural, diverse scene that transcends all borders and represents the new cultural heritage of the generations that have grown up in a globalised world connected by the internet and new technologies.
