OPENING OF ‘VISIONS OF ASTURIAS’ AT THE SPANISH EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON, DC

17 MARCH 2022

The exhibition Miradas de Asturias is now open to the public outside the Spain Arts & Culture Centre in Washington, DC. The show, which is being held in conjunction with the Spanish Embassy in Washington, DC (Spain Arts & Culture), will be open until 28 December.

Visions of Asturias is made up of photographs by está compuesta por fotografías de Alberto García-Alix, Chema Madoz, Ouka Leele and José Manuel Ballester. . They all originated in the patronage project of the same name which consisted in commissioning prestigious Spanish photographers, all of them National Photography Award winners, to work with complete freedom to create an artistic project about Asturias and its peoples. This project gave rise to an original body of work which is now part of the Foundation’s art collection.

Starting 17 March, the Spain Arts & Culture Centre is showing the unique, personal vision of this particular region in northern Spain that each of these four photographers has captured with their lenses in the United States capital.
