(Palencia, 1966)

A multidisciplinary artist who works with different formats, including painting, video and new technologies, she holds a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. She currently combines her artistic career with teaching at the University of Vigo.

Marina Nuñez began working in painting and later expanded to other media. With them she has created a world of her own, focused on the feminine and the role of women in history, including frequent nods to art history, particularly Baroque art. She wields her personal language to inquire into concepts like identity, madness, disintegration, the aberrant and the monstrous, always focusing on representations that are anomalous, exist on the margins or run counter to the canon.
