The Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson purchased a black and white photograph by Cristina García Rodero from her series Roads of Rain at the Juana de Aizpuru stand at ARCO 2010. In the 2017 edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair of Madrid, the Foundation added this work by the photographer from Cádiz from the same gallery. It is a composition inspired by García Rodero’s recent travels to India, where plays of colour come to the fore, becoming the essential features of the photograph. In this new series, Dreamland, the contrast between the background and the clothing worn by this Hindu bride, along with the quiet conjunction of red and white tones, dominate the expressive structure which yet again features the presence of the female figure, symbolic meanings and social rites.
