This painting belongs to the De Somnis series which the artist made between the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its title is related to an unconscious, emotional mood resembling the reveries reflected in his compositions. As is common in the works in this series, it consists in a combination and superimposition of clearly ascending linear forms which stand out over a monochromatic background. It is dominated by a palette of blacks applied quite flatly but brightened by the yellow lines and areas, which become focal points of light and confer agility and power on the composition.
De Somnis XI, 2nd Time was acquired by the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the Galería Cayón in Madrid during the 2019 ARCO fair.
