NOVO, Reynier Leyva

(Havana, 1983)

Ever since he joined the Behaviour Art School created in Havana in 2003 under the oversight of Tania Bruguera, the works of this young Cuban artist have kept up an interest in history as a simulacrum of other realities, drawing from video, photography and design in multidisciplinary proposals. In his works, the political view takes precedence as a personal form of public presentation, using ideological images which he converts or transmutes into art objects. His works are part of major private collections as well as museums and public institutions like the Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington DC (USA) and the National Fine Arts Museum of Havana, among others.
