Jardín de Fukuoka XXXIV

TECHNICAL DATA

Author: Rubén Martín de Lucas (Madrid, 1977)
Title: Jardín de Fukuoka XXXIV  (The Garden of Fukuoka XXXIV)
Year: 2017
Technique: oil, acrylic and wax on board
Size: 120 x 150 cm

This painting was acquired by the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson at the stand of the Asturian gallery Bea Villamarín at the JUSTMAD 8 fair. It was part of the exhibition entitled The Garden of Fukuoka held in Gijón in 2016, and it was inspired by the book One-Straw Revolution by the Japanese philosopher. At a very special creative time, Martín de Lucas artistically shares Fukuoka’s ideals of ecological agriculture, in which flowers and vegetables flow and work unaltered at nature’s own pace. The painter lets his expressive capacity flow through painting, with barely perceptible gestures and splotches and extraordinarily delicate atmospheres.
