ARAGON, Edgardo

(Oaxaca, México, 1985)

Aragon’s work reflects the situation of rural Mexico, damaged by the neglect of the population and the exodus to the big cities. His photographs inherit the romantic landscapes of the nineteenth century, showing the beauty of the countryside while denouncing the plight of the inhabitants of the area of Oaxaca, reflecting evocations, passions and allegories directly inherited from the magical realism of Latin America. He has enjoyed residency fellowships for young artists at ISCP-Fonca (New York, 2013), among others.
