6th EDITION OF THE DIONISIO DE LA HUERTA CASAGRÁN AWARDS

The  Dionisio de la Huerta Casagrán Awards were founded six years ago by the Aller-born businessman Franco Rodríguez, who now resides in Barcelona, in memory of Dionisio de la Huerta Casagrán (1899-1995), the universal Catalan-Asturian, son of an Asturian father and a Catalan mother. Dionisio de la Huerta Casagrán, who had great future vision and was a sports lover, brought tennis to the Principality of Asturias and was the founder of the “Canoe Festival”, the international descent of the Sella River.

These awards are granted each year to the Asturian person or entity that has excelled in the social, cultural or sports field, based on the majority decision of the Judges.

Those receiving awards in the 2013 6th Edition, were: Manuel Vega-Arango Alvaré, Marcelo Vaquero “Campanal”, Real Grupo de Cultura Covadonga, Cáritas de Asturias and the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation.

The 2013 Award Ceremony was held on Monday 26 August, at 20:00, at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo.
