GUIDED TOUR AND WORKSHOP

MATTER AND COLOUR: A STROLL THROUGH TWENTIEH-CENTURY SPANISH ART
Second cycle primary students

What are the similarities and differences between abstract art and realist art? How is a cubist image created? What materials do artists use to create their work? What emotions do colours convey?

By examining paintings and sculptures by artists like Picasso, Miró, Sorolla, Antonio López and Tàpies, participants will learn about some of the most important art movements of the twentieth century, including cubism, surrealism and abstraction.

After the tour, they will experiment in the workshop with different techniques, colours and materials, becoming artists themselves for the day.
