CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES
CHRISTMAS THROUGH COLOURS

FMCMP MADRID CENTRE
20 and 27 DECEMBER 2025 and 3 JANUARY 2026

To celebrate the festive season, the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson is organising a workshop for families consisting of an interactive tour and a creative activity in the workshop inspired by The Virgin Nursing the Child, by the Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi, and Christmas iconography.

The activity begins with an interactive tour of the Christmas exhibition featuring Artemisia Gentileschi’s Virgin Nursing the Child

Through the analysis of the work, families will learn about the life of Artemisia, one of the greatest women painters of the Baroque period, and will explore how light, colour and emotions became predominant elements of her works. They will also discover the essential traits of this artistic language, as well as some of the most representative Christmas symbols of the time.

After the tour, the activity will continue in the creative space, where participants will be invited to design a Christmas ornament and a card inspired by Artemisia’s work. Employing plastic techniques such as collage and colour effects, each family will use their creativity to reinterpret Christmas from their own perspective.
