PÉREZ, Iván

(Tineo, 1973)

Painter, sculptor and photographer, this Asturian artist usually portrays natural or artificial paradises, reflecting on the situation of human beings in contemporary society. His images, masterfully captured, denounce conflicts and errors by using urban elements, waste or advertising elements he manipulates and intervenes to recover memory. His subliminal messages and constant reinterpretations demonstrate why he is growing in popularity thanks to several galleries and museums in Spain, where he regularly participates in numerous collective exhibitions and is responsible for the 143Delicias Video Festival. He was shortlisted for the Ciudad de Palma Prize 2008, Honourable Mention for the ABC Painting and Photography Prize 2007 and an Alnorte Fellowship 2006, among other distinctions.
