Female silhouettes under a suggestive sequence of compositions, typically excel in the pictorial and photographic compositions by Rebeca Menéndez. Technically impeccable, her pieces explore various contradictions between the hidden and the visible, using fragments of reality is made up of slightly veiled images, fragile but powerful. Lonely and self-absorbed figures, routine acts in a complex and alienating time, metaphors of modern-day communication. In 1993, she received an Alnorte Fellowship and subsequently won other awards, such as ArtNalón (2004), Luarca Competition (2005) and Arco 40 Haagen Dazs 2010, among others.
